Do you need false teeth? If you brush your chompers twice per day and floss at least once a day, the answer is likely no. If you’re older than 60 and have lost several pearly whites, the answer could be yes.
Identifying the need for dentures can be tough, but there are some signs you can look for to indicate whether you may have a need for false teeth. First of all and most obviously, you may need dentures if you are missing chompers. If the teeth you do have feel extra sensitive to heat, cold and other sensations, you may have grave tooth breakdown, necessitating partial or complete false teeth.
If you do need dentures, they’ll be made to last for a long time. To make dentures, Dr. Joe Gerard begins by taking an impression of the patient’s mouth, whether through use of a mold or digital imaging. After Dr. Joe Gerard reviews the impression or image to ensure it is ready, we will send the impressions to an oral lab for processing. Technicians at the dental lab use high temperatures and advanced techniques to create solid, durable dentures that will last for a very long time. In a second appointment, Dr. Joe Gerard will make modifications to the false teeth to ensure that they sit well in the patient’s mouth.
